Saturday night I noticed our heater was blowing cold air. Not a good thing in middle of Winter. We had no idea what was what was going on. Sunday morning we still weren't getting any hot air. The temperature in our house had dropped to 62 degrees. Bill had to work at 24 hour shift at the fire station starting early that morning, I got him off to work and went back to bed. About a half hour later I get a call from Bill saying a couple of the guys (who built their own houses) wanted to come over and take a look. "Right now?" ..."Really?" I forced myself out of bed and tried to straighten up as fast as I could. Sure enough they were in my kitchen looking at my water heater in less than five minutes. They showed up in a fire engine and parked it front of my house with the engine running (sorry neighbors) They figured out what was wrong, one of the coils was burnt out. Being Sunday, we couldn't fix it that day because we couldn't get the part. But it wasn't a bad way to start off the morning with the guys in uniform standing in my kitchen. One being my husband. :) How lucky can a girl get?Our heater woes didn't get fixed until Monday evening. It got pretty cold in our house, about 58 degrees. I just kept telling the kids it was kind of like camping. We just piled on more blankets and slept with our socks on. Monday morning, Ellie and I hung out in bed huddled under the covers and watched Netflix movies. When we got the part for the heater was literally fixed in less than 5 minutes. You have no idea how amazing your heater is until you don't have it in the middle of Winter. Thanks Madison Fire Department!
