Fuzzy Math

The Hollywood Video store near us is going out of business. We went in to check to see if we could find any cheap DVD's, Blue Rays, or Wii games. I was looking at some Blue Rays when I noticed the sign.
Orig. $25.99
60% off
Now: 12.98
Huh? I didn't need a calculator to do that math.
I asked one of the employee's what the actual price was. The conversation went as follows...
Him: They are $12.98
Me: Then why does it say they are %60 off, that's 50%.
Him: (Rudely) It doesn't matter what it says, they are $12.98!
Me: Do you know your signs say they are 60% off (They had about 5 signs that said 60% off)
Him: THEY ARE $12.98!
Me: You are really good at FUZZY MATH!
Then I put everything back we were going to get and walked out of the store.

I wasn't trying to get a BETTER deal, I was just trying to clarify which price was correct and make them aware of the mistake on their signs. DON"T GET AN ATTITUDE...I DIDN'T MAKE THE SIGNS. I just did the math!

A. I think maybe all of Hollywood video is going out of business because I see them everywhere saying "store closing."

B. What an idiot..... I sure hope you weren't the first one to notice this and I sure hope you are not the last to bring it to attention.

That store is EVIL. We had problems with the employees too. I think its become a breeding ground of idiocy and rudeness. Nice on letting them know whats up and standing your ground.
