We headed out around 8:00pm on Friday night, drove all night...got to California around noon. I have to apologize to all my friends in California for not getting together with anyone. It was such a short trip and it was Easter weekend so I assumed everyone was busy with family. As soon as we got there we showered and went out to lunch. I was SO excited about going to lunch because we NEVER eat out. It is one of the many things we have had to eliminate from our budget. My mom and I got a chance to go shopping. Which was fun, I always love the one on one time I get with my mom.
The kids got to dye Easter eggs with Grandma.
Colin...ahem...I mean the Easter Bunny got a little creative this year by taping candy to the walls. He even put a stash of candy in the grandfather clock and then locked it.
After the Easter egg hunt, we had a huge breakfast with everything from Waffles with homemade strawberry syrup, hash browns, corned beef hash, bacon & sausage. Oh man I am getting stuffed just listing the stuff we had.
Then we watched General Conference. It was a wonderful General Conference. Lots of great talks, with a lot of reminders and new resolutions for myself to bring me and my family closer to the Savior.
Jared begged to go in the pool. It was only in the 60's and the pool was definitely colder than that. He actually played in the pool for about 20 minutes. Although he kept coming out because it was so stinkin' cold!
Sunday afternoon we got to feel the 7.2 earthquake. The kids were playing and didn't really get to feel it but they saw everything swaying. Earthquakes don't usually bother me, it's just the fact that there have been so many BIG earthquakes in such a short time span. There have been a couple of times since being back in Idaho that I have been startled by the heater coming on or a truck going by thinking I was going to feel another one.
Sunday evening we were able to go and visit with Bill's family. We got to go over and see Amy's new house. I am so happy for her and love the progress she is making on it.
We headed out early Monday.
Even though our trip was short, we sure had ourselves a fun adventure filled with lots of great memories.

It was a very good Easter and I so enjoy spoiling the grandkids. Thank goodness for great sales at Kohl's!
